Yuta Tamura | Biography

“Untying Division, Expressing Coexistence” Born in 1987. Based in Kobe.

At the heart of Yuta Tamura’s practice lies a steadfast will to “connect.” He creates works that intersect digital visual language—manifested through pixelated forms—with the organic, tactile presence of materials like cordage, which symbolizes physical connectivity. His abstracted compositions inherently possess a profound “blank space,” serving as a vessel for viewers to project their own memories and emotions, thereby facilitating a resonance between the artwork and the individual’s inner world.

Tamura’s current focus centers on “connecting and the will to connect with others.” Just as a coin has two sides, he believes “connection” inherently embraces “division,” while “division” itself contains the seeds of “connection.” By seeking connectivity while simultaneously confronting the stark divisions that exist within it, he continues his artistic journey as a continuous process of attempting a “re-connection.”

 Biography

「分断をほどき、共に在るための表現」

田村 勇太｜Yuta Tamura 1987年生まれ、神戸市在住。美術家。

表現の根底にあるのは、「つながること」への一貫した意志である。デジタル的な視覚言語である「ピクセル表現」と、物理的な接続を象徴する「紐」などの素材を交差させる作品を制作。抽象化された作品は、鑑賞者自身の記憶や感情を投影するための「余白」を内包しており、個々人の内面と作品が呼応する場を創出している。

近年は「他者と繋がること、繋がろうとすること」を創作の主眼に置く。コインの表裏のように、「繋がり」はその内側に「分断」を抱え、「分断」もまた「繋がり」を内包している。繋がりを求めながらそこに厳然として存在する分断を見つめ、再接続を試みるプロセスとしての表現活動を続けている。
